Avast me maties and welcome to Whitby Pirate Day 2009!
Okay, we're going to be very busy plundering new treasure and what not, but here's the slightly late details from the latest Pirate Day! P.S. Watch out for 2010's! =)
Lorraine Smeltzer and Charlotte Herlingshaw (we'd love to remain anonymous but even wenches have to deal with the wrath of council paperwork and procedures) co-ordinated Whitby Pirate Day 2009 which went ahead on 16th August 2009 in Whitby Town Centre. Thanks to everyones kindness we raised another £540 for the RNLI. We'll be in touch!! Safe sailing!
Pirate day will be arriving on the shores of Whitby for its second year on Sunday 16th August 2009!
This year, we're just next to the Tourist Infomation Centre and the fantastic Grand Turk boat! (YO21 1YN for those pirates with the luxury of SatNav) - thar be maps on our getting here section!
So get yourself down with a cutlass at hand, plunder some treasure and join in the fun accompanied by some great North East bands!

Whitby Pirate Day is a non-profit event to raise money for the RNLI and a great opportunity for pirates of all ages to dress up, enjoy the free entertainment and other activities around the town!
If you happen to have missed last years plundering be assured this years promises to be bigger and better!
The first Whitby Pirate Day was held on Sunday 7th September 2008 in Whitby! Thanks to everyone who attended!
It was awesome fun for everyone! We raised over £620 for the RNLI.
In fact, it was so epic that it's going to be an annual event!

Angie and John Todd from North East Live played such a pivotal role in ensuring the day was a success. They also took loads of great pictures on the day and even dressed up as pirates!

Staples (Teesside Park) - for donating the stationery used for the 'Make your own pirate hat and flags.

Scarbrough Council for giving us a license to do this! (Even though we had to change days!!)

Whitby Mission and Seafarers centre for allowing Charlie to demolish their room whilst making the pirate hats and flags! (We tidied up at the end!)
