The first Whitby Pirate Day was held on Sunday 7th September 2008 in Whitby!
It was awesome fun for everyone! We raised over £620 for the Whitby Lifeboats/RNLI.
In fact, it was so epic that it's going to be an annual event!

Angie and John Todd from North East Live played such a pivotal role in ensuring the day was a success. They also took loads of great pictures on the day and even dressed up as pirates! - The bands!

all absolutely FANTASTIC!! What more can I say?! - BBC Tees - Bob Fischer - for inviting us to make a mess of his radio station! (You can catch this magical moment on the pirate day website again and again!)
- Staples (Teesside Park) - for donating the stationery used for the 'Make your own pirate hat and flags.
- Scarbrough Council for giving us a license to do this! (Even though we had to change days!!)
- Whitby Mission and Seafarers centre for allowing Charlie to demolish their room whilst making the pirate hats and flags! (We tidied up at the end!)
- Whitby Lifeboats for helping us out along the way and pointing in the right directions!
- The Whitby International Pirate Society for getting involved, bringing down their pirate games and just for being so awesome!
- All the voluneteers and people who dressed up and of course every who donated money!
- And the local businesses who allowed us to splash our advertising around!

22/08/2008 - 2nd recruitment/poster spamming day organised for tomorrow in Guisborough and Whitby on Sunday. Here we come guys!
13/08/2008 - Our permit has arrived! No stopping us now!
11/08/2008 - ATTENTION!!! PIRATE DAY CHANGED TO SUNDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER! Forced to change day due to licensing problems - sorry to anyone who has old posters/flyers advertising as the Saturday
06/08/2008 - Tinpixel, North East web and graphic design company kindly donated a free website and hosting to Whitby Pirate Day
02/08/2008 - First recruitment/poster spamming day in Whitby! Wish us luck! Thanks to Mike Wetherell for producing the flyers!
25/07/2008 - North East Live - Angie and John Taylor (www.northeastlive.net) donated their services in the form of finding bands and donating their Vocal PA system. Thanks guys!
20/07/2008 - Staples agreed to donate stationery required for Pirate Hat and Flag Making and Middlesbrough Football Club donated a signed Middlesbrough Shirt for the raffle - much thanks to both organisations!
18/07/2008 - Recruitment begins!

10/07/2008 - Whitby Pirate Day set sail!
